Sabar

Many local diners are familiar with saba (mackerel) in Japanese cuisine through the famous grilled saba dish found in most izakaya. But not many are aware that the fish can actually be prepared in myriad ways and even eaten fresh as sashimi. Here is where two-month-old restaurant Sabar comes in. Decked in inviting shades of blue, the restaurant in Wisma Atria’s Japan Food Town is designed to resemble an English fish and chips shop, complete with informative murals detailing facts about saba fish. Sabar sources its premium fish from Aomori, Tohoku and offers them as sushi, sashimi, grilled, fried and even a la fish and chips.
