Multi-concept dining concept at Hard Rock Hotel featuring popular crab dishes, theatrical desserts and live music
Hard Rock Hotel Singapore gains another establishment, Sessions, a part live music venue, part restaurant and part patisserie which will whisk you away into the candy equivalent of Neverland. They specialize in crab dishes and hot wok faves, along with the patisserie section helmed by veteran dessert master Kenny Kong, who is in charge of the theatrical sweets. A well-prepared drinks list include refreshing cocktails, wines and beers.
Resorts World Sentosa is more than just the casino and Universal Studios Singapore—it's also home to a slew of celebrity restaurants like the Michelin-starred Joel Robuchon Restaurant and Forest. But Sessions, an establishment within Hard Rock Hotel Singapore that's part live music venue (thus the name), part restaurant and part patisserie will whisk you away into the candy equivalent of Peter Pan's Neverland.
The restaurant specializes in crab dishes and hot wok faves like Singapore chili crab, prawn paste chicken wings and grilled salmon with citrus zest. But don't fret, they also do Western dishes like grilled rib eye steak and mussels sauteed with white wine and garlic. All of this, and more, are available during their weekend buffet for $75. Some dishes are also available a la carte.
But what you should really go here for is the patisserie. Sweet Sessions, which is just next to the restaurant, is helmed by RWS' executive chef (and president of the Singapore Pastry Alliance since 2006) Kenny Kong. This veteran patissier has spent decades in various fine establishments in France, Switzerland, Hong Kong and of course, Singapore, and has amassed numerous awards both locally and regionally. He's pretty much the guy you want to go to when you have a major sweet craving. He makes mouth-watering desserts like his signature Macaron Hamburger Bun ($16), a mini hamburger-looking dish with marshmallows, mocha ice cream and mango leather sandwiched between a chili-chocolate chip cookie and a macaron shell; the Instagram-worthy Frozen Yoghurt & Floss Tower ($16) featuring soft serve froyo and pink candy floss and served over dry ice; the theatrical Chocolate Balloon Melt ($18), Kong's rendition of the novel melting chocolate sphere dessert; and many more, which are presented in large glass displays like antiques in a museum.
They're keeping it quite classic with the drinks menu which covers options from beer to wines and a selection of cocktails. Try Crush on You, made with lychee, pineapple, lime juice, rose syrup and grenadine or the refreshing Cucumber Slush with vodka, cucumber, pineapple and lime juice (both $18).
