Snag a seat at the long chef’s counter: they serve food up on long wooden paddles, making for a fun interactive experience. Recently, they've introduced the new shabu Shabu/Sukiyaki menu which include two specialties—Sake Nabe, which uses 100% sake in hot pot and Whisky Sukiyaki for whisky lovers. if you don’t want to blow the budget, affordable lunch sets are available too.

This joint’s located on the second floor of a North Canal Road shophouse. It’s so hidden away it almost feels like a secret. Take the elevator up (enter from the side alley) and you’ll find a relaxed space with a cozy reception, a private dining room and a long chef’s counter. Japanese grills or robatayaki are the speciality here. They offer $88, $138 and $188 dinner courses as well as ala carte items such as shiromi truffle ($55), white fish carpaccio with truffles—as well as rice bowls topped with eel and foie gras ($48). Light desserts like umeshu jelly ($8) round out the menu. If you don’t want to blow the budget, affordable lunch sets (from $24) are available too.
