This joint’s located on the second floor of a North Canal Road shophouse. It’s so hidden away it almost feels like a secret. Take the elevator up (enter from the side alley) and you’ll find a relaxed space with a cozy reception, a private dining room and a long chef’s counter. Japanese grills or robatayaki are the specialty here. They offer $88, $138 and $188 dinner courses as well as ala carte items such as Shiromi Truffle ($55), White Fish Carpaccio with Truffles — as well as rice bowls topped with eel and foie gras ($48). Light desserts like Umeshu Jelly ($8) round out the menu. If you don’t want to blow the budget, affordable lunch sets (from $24) are available too.
