Amid a surge in specialty Japanese cuisine restaurants, Tempura TenTen casually combines all your usual Japanese food cravings under one roof. In a 36-seater space of the Raffles City’s basement, the restaurant serves up sumptuous tempura platters, ramen bowls and unagi. Tendon fans will like the classic Special Tendon ($13.80); for a unique twist, there’s the Premium King Prawn Tendon and Unatendon ($19.80)—the latter a bowl of various tempura (bacon, shitake mushroom, seaweed, and pumpkin) topped with melt-in-your-mouth eel from Kagoshima.
There’s also the option to enjoy your grilled eel alone in the Unajyu, a bowl of charcoal-grilled unagi paired with sweet tare sauce. Otherwise, there are steaming bowls of Hokkaido miso ramen, in popular flavors like Tonkotsu Chashu, Spicy, and Spicy Miso. Head Chef Mamoru Kanaya previously worked with Ramen Champion and Menya Takeichi, so you’re in good hands.
