The very first Tomi Sushi restaurant was opened in its hometown Niigata prefecture back in 1954. During these 52 years, Tomi Sushi has opened 14 other branches across Japan as well as four outlets here in Singapore. Apart from sushi and sashimi, the restaurant highlights Niigata produce plus local fare such as hegi soba, a kind of buckwheat noodle where fungi seaweed is incorporated into the noodle dough for texture and coloring; as well as tochoioage, a type of deep fried bean curd. Niigata is also known to produce some of the finest sakes in Japan and naturally these can be found at Tomi Sushi to pair with your meal.
