Trattoria Milano

The buzz: This new Italian joint by chef Domenic Truglia—who’s also a jazz and rock singer back in his hometown—offers home-cooked Italian dishes at affordable prices. The vibe: Very cozy—its intimate 40-seater setting is reminiscent of the hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Italy, where soft Italian music plays (we did wonder if some of it was Truglia’s recordings) and Milanese paintings adorn the walls. The food: Signature dishes include the scrumptious squid ink ravioli in capsicum sauce ($28); the Bresaola Contadini, thin slices of beef marinated with herbs and black pepper ($20); and the quattro formaggi pizza ($18), coupled with old-fashioned desserts like tiramisu ($9).Why you’ll be back: Homemade Italian food has never tasted so good or authentic. Can you say “Bon Appetito?”
