Hong Kong-style cha chaan teng (translating directly to “tea restaurant”) Tsui Wah expands to Singapore, in its first Southeast Asian outlet. Brought in by our very own JUMBO Group, the chain’s first Singapore outlet stakes its claim in a 140-seater in Clarke Quay.
With over 60 outlets in Hong Kong, Macau and China, the chain brand has garnered quite a reputation for itself—particularly for its signature items Milk Tea ($3-4) and Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk ($4). At the Singapore outpost, look forward to those and a selection of mains like Braised Abalone Rice with Diced Chicken and Kale ($14), King Prawns in XO Sauce with Tossed Noodles ($11), and Tsui Wah’s Lamb Chop Curry with Steamed Rice ($29); its curry recipe dates back to the ’60s. Ingredients like the tea leaves for the Iced/Hot Milk Tea are imported directly from Tsui Wah Hong Kong for that original flavor.
