The 2019 Great Singapore Sale will no longer be acknowledged by its acronym GSS, but GSS: Experience Singapore, and a whole new retail experience will be coming with it. From Jun 21-Jul 28, shoppers can brace for a complete blow-out, and a transformation of Orchard Road and Kampong Gelam. Expect street pop-ups, bazaars, film screenings and fashion shows.
Kicking off GSS: Experience Singapore is the Orchard Road Fashion Scramble, to be held on Jun 21. This fashion show will cast the spotlight on 300 dancers and models, for a showcase of threads and trends by both local and foreign designers. The Fashion Scramble will turn Orchard Road into a performing arena and an interactive runway, which may finally be captivating enough to lure shoppers away from the heaps of sales at boutiques all around town.
Alongside the runway, Singaporeans and tourists can find The Great Singapore Street Pop Up which will span from Ion Orchard to Mandarin Gallery, for some retail fun and culinary delights during the first 10 days of the six week-long event. Its other locations include Robinsons The Heeren and Grange Road Carpark.

A TGIF shopping spree will be ran every Friday, over the course of GSS: Experience Singapore; channel your inner shopaholic, as retailers and F&B merchants actively dish out incredibly attractive discounts. Anticipate the arrival of Jul 7 too, for additional savings of 7% on GST, and even more for GoSpree members.
On the other side of town, Kampong Gelam will be buzzing with bazaars, activities and another fashion show, all inspired by the rich heritage of the area. Between Jul 5-14, ProjekGlamway (Jul 6) will have models strutting down the runway donning fabrics available at textile stores along Arab Street, OKG Home & Lifestyle Bazaar will provide a good excuse to pick up handcrafted trinkets, and the OKG Car Boot Sale is slated to present some great vintage finds.
Gone are the days of penny plain sales, GSS: Experience Singapore endeavours to up the ante, uniting shoppers from all across Singapore and the globe.
