When we were kids, our water bottles always accompanied us. What happened to that? Mayo Clinic recommends men consume 3.5 litres daily; women at least 2.7. Despite sweating constantly and the potential health risks, including urinary tract infections, kidney failure, and heart attacks, we don’t replenish our water reserves regularly.
With its flavourful Microdrink, waterdrop hopes to encourage us to drink more water. Drop a cube into a glass or a reusable water bottle to consume more.
In its first foray into the Asian market, the Austria-based hydration brand launched its first mall kiosk (Plaza Singapura) last November and an online store in Singapore this month.
“Our mission has always been to help people live healthier, more hydrated and more sustainable lives. With our online store, we have opened another avenue to make this lifestyle more accessible to our Singaporean customers,” says founder Martin Murray.
The brand – which also produces Microtea, Microenergy, and Microlyte – is best known for its sugar-free Microdrink cubes with fruit and plant extracts, vitamins, and minerals as well as sustainable drinkware.
You can make a tasty drink in three simple steps. First, pour 400 to 600ml of cold still or sparkling water into a tumbler or bottle. Then dissolve the cube completely in the water. Finally, just enjoy and stay hydrated.
We like the quirky names, like Vibe and Youth, of the Microdrink packs ($13.90 each), and their ingredients and nutrients are appropriate to their names.
In celebration of its new online store, waterdrop is offering 15 percent off to customers who sign up for its online newsletter at waterdrop.sg.
