It’s the blue jeans that everyone knows – even your parents and grandparents may have worn them. The Levi’s 501 jeans – the world’s first pair of blue jeans – is now 150 years old, and that calls for a big birthday celebration.
The brand is gearing up for the occasion with the Levi’s 501 Experience. Taking place over one weekend on May 20 and 21 at 72-13, the free interactive pop-up event combines culture, entertainment and retail under one roof.
Designed to honour a true icon and what it means to be an individual, denim lovers and fans can look forward to workshops, customisation services, exclusive early access and performances by homegrown DJs. Everyone’s invited to the party!
Choose from a range of special 150th anniversary patches, or make your mark with custom embroidery and distressing. Customise your items with flash designs from Lovage & Ken on May 20 and Tobyato on May 21. Get hands-on by signing up for a denim workshop with FIN Crafted Goods and learn how to repurpose defective jeans into keychains.
Then groove to music at the NewJeans-themed party (K-pop girl group is the brand’s latest global ambassador) with DJ Clammr helming the decks on Saturday. The next day, DJ TINC will close off the festivities on a high.
Look out for the special anniversary edition capsule collection, available exclusively at the pop-up. Items include the Levi’s 501 Original Banner Pant, The Trucker Jacket Banner Trucker; and Levi’s 501 Original Rainforest Rigid Selvedge, and 501 logo tees.
Levi’s has also commissioned local artists and students from LASALLE College of the Arts to each design a pair of 501 jeans inspired by their own 501 story. Each custom pair will be displayed at the pop-up.
Levi’s 501 Experience takes place on May 20 and 21 at 72-13, Mohamed Sultan Rd, Singapore 239007. Register for free at bit.ly/levis501experience to redeem a surprise door gift.
