Don’t throw shade at the Mugler x Gentle Monster collaboration, because it’s looking awfully fierce.
Just last year, the Mugler H&M collection was one of the most talked-about collaborations. The iconic French fashion house, known for sexy silhouettes in mesh, structured denim and spandex, worked with the fast fashion brand for a more accessible range of its designs. More recently, Gentle Monster worked with Blackpink’s Jennie for their third collaboration, Jentle Salon, with eye-catching charm designs.
Now, the two design powerhouses have come together to present an eyewear collection with unique silhouettes. A fusion of creative artistry and innovation, the Muger X Gentle Monster collaboration integrates Mugler’s unique heritage and contemporary signature spiral details with Gentle Monster’s aesthetics.
The eyewear, called Spiral 01 and Spiral 02, exude a don’t-mess-with-me-attitude with their bold, wraparound designs. Spiral 01 “conveys an intense energy from its geometric design”, inspired by a modern exploration of Mugler’s Fourmis eyewear first introduced as part of the House’s 1997 Les Insectes haute couture collection. Spiral 02 stands out with a contemporary edge, featuring embossed line details and a chrome logo on the temples.
Its modern design of the collection also extends to the packaging which is both organic and structural for a forward-thinking aesthetic.
The Mugler x Gentle Monster collection is set for release on Jul 18, and will be sold through Mugler and Gentle Monster’s official online and offline stores as well as selected multi-brand shops globally.
