Injecting some fresh exotica into the recent onslaught of maker markets is the Turkish Delight Pop-up Bazaar, which claims to take its cue from the famous Grand Bazaar, a 500-year-old market in Istanbul. It has a variety of handcrafted metal bowls, tea wares, sterling silverware, Iznik ceramics, carpets and pieces from Turkish designer homeware brands like Haremlique, ARMAGGAN and Dhoku, an organic carpet specialist.
But the event’s highight are the Byzantine and Ottoman-style jewelry by Sevan Bicakci, who is known in Turkey as the “star jeweler” for statement designs featuring intricately-detailed mythological figures, animals, birds and flowers carved in precious stones.
The bazaar is happening from Aug 28 to Sep 20 at Edit Lifestyle (137/139 Tudor Court, Tanglin Rd.). For more information, head here.
