Eco-friendly brands to buy in celebration of Earth Hour

You’ve heard the news: Spidey and gang will be swinging by for Earth Hour on March 29 this year to help switch off the lights across our Marina Bay skyline. But you don’t have to be a superhero to observe environmentally-conscious practices. Here, we round up several eco-friendly stores where you can shop to your heart’s content, without the guilt (well, almost).

BGO Ecoshop
This online emporium stocks an array of sustainable products, from groceries and superfoods, to clothing made from organic cotton. It’s a one-stop shop for everything environmentally-friendly.

Eco u
You’ll find a gorgeous, Pinterest-worthy range of wooden cutlery, stripey paper straws, disposable plates (furnished from sugarcane pulp!) and more at this website. Throwing a party doesn’t have to be all that lavish.

Shop responsibly at Etrician, one of Singapore’s pioneering eco-fashion brands. The clothes available on the site are all made from 100 percent certified organic cotton.

Flea & Trees
The husband-and-wife team behind this cozy store believes in Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS), and this philosophy is reflected in their products—a unique mix of eclectic homeware, clothes, accessories, books and magazines.

MDREAMS Singapore
Eco-friendly footwear doesn’t have to be ugly and clunky, the iconic Melissa jelly shoes are prime example. They are reportedly made of cruelty-free, nontoxic MEFLEX plastic in socially-conscious factories, and is hypo-allergenic and vegan.

You’ll find an incredible array of organic produce at this supermarket, such as meats, seafood and dairy. The Farm Boxes,  stuffed to the brim with fresh fruit and veggies, are worth every penny. You can shop online, too.

The Naturally Better Company
This eco-luxury boutique stocks beauty and lifestyle products from brands like Intelligent Nutrients, Melissa, Red Flower and Tallulah Jane.

Touch The Toes
This quaint shophouse stocks a range of (rather good-looking) yoga and pilates apparel made only from organic cotton, bamboo blends, and recycled or upcycled materials.

We Do See Life

We Do See Life brings in a host of innovative, yet sustainable, products, such as sturdy bags from Alchemy Goods (made from recycled bicycle tubes) and Ögon aluminium wallets. Purchase these products online, or at We Do See Life’s booth at Eco After Me.
