The new and improved Watsons at Ngee Ann City is a game-changer. Elevated and refreshed, the store now occupies a whopping 7,000 sq ft, pushing the boundaries of a traditional drugstore to cater to beauty, health and wellness enthusiasts. Sporting an updated facade and overall brighter outlook that is a precursor to the sparkling new experiences that lie in store, some of the exciting additions include exclusive new brands and fun gadgets for customers to use.
For health and wellness, drop by Australian health supplement line Blackmores for a Bone Density Health Check, conducted by the Blackmores Health Advisory team. The check employs patented and proprietary axial transmission technology to measure the speed of ultrasonic waves propagating along the bones, so consumers may be notified if they are at risk of any bone-related conditions. Working the pharmacy counters are an experienced team of four full-time pharmacists, helmed by award-winning Principal Clinical Pharmacist Chung Wing Lam, so you know you are in good hands.
Those interested in gaining a better understanding of their skin should check out Dr Wu's counter at Watsons. Present at the store for all to utilise, the brand's first AI skin analyser uses facial recognition technology to analyse the user's skin condition, before providing product recommendations.
One of the most anticipated additions incorporated in the revamp is a 7m-long Mask Bay that presents a facial mask for every skin type, across 22 brands. Among these are Peripera’s Juice Time masks ($2.90), Hadabisei Penetrating 3D Facial masks ($15.90 and $19.90), and the buzzed-about Saborino Morning/Night masks ($21.90); all of which are exclusive to Watsons.
Drugstore beauty junkies, rejoice. Watsons at Ngee Ann City will now offer the American cosmetic label's quality yet wallet-friendly hits here in Singapore. In case you forgot, their products are 100% cruelty-free and PETA certified, so you can shop for beauty guru-approved concealer-foundation hybrids ($21.70) and gorgeous Rose Powder blushes ($19.50) without guilt.
Like K-Pop, K-beauty dominates. Pony Effect doesn't stray far from the K-beauty stereotype, with their feather-light formulas and warm make-up tones. Most of its widespread success can be attributed to the trademark quality of Korean beauty products matched with its impressive range of shades; for a dash of signature Korean eye-smokiness, pick up Pony’s Master Eye Palette in #Matte Master ($59.90).
The Japanese cosmetics and skincare brand is most widely known for its potent Golden Jelly Masks ($16.90), which comes soaked in one of the highest volumes of essence within each sachet. Adopting a juice bar concept, the outlet now offers its body scrub, body salt and clay wash series.
The refurbished store also allows customers to opt for self-checkout to speed things along. As all Watsons’ Elite members are entitled to a priority payment queue, make sure you check if you qualify for an Elite upgrade.
Watsons @ Takashimaya S.C. is open 10am-10pm daily at #B2-06/07/08/09/10, Ngee Ann City.
