Here’s what to expect at Singapore’s massive new Uniqlo flagship

We’ve had our fair share of “Asia’s first” things in Singapore, but our jadedness does not apply to the imminent opening of Uniqlo’s three-floor, 2,700 sq m Southeast Asia flagship throwing open its doors on Sep 2 at Orchard Central.

Besides showcasing its usual collection of Lifewear basics, functional wear like the DryEx, Heattech and Airism pieces and UTs (Uniqlo t-shirts), Uniqlo has collaborated with a whole bunch of local artists to create various elements in the new store, such as the hoarding design that was done up by local art collective Tell Your Children, original in-house music produced by audiovisual collective Syndicate that will be played in-store, a quirky art display in the kids section illustrated by visual artist Michael Ng, a campaign film played in-store, featuring local talents like beatboxer Dharni and 80-year-old rocker Mary Ho and more.

There are also cool-quirky-creepy touches like revolving mannequin displays, the world’s biggest collection of UNIQLO dresses, a 47-screen digital display installation and lots more.

If you’re among the first 500 customers between Sep 2-4, you also get a welcome gift bag worth $50.
