The KEEPERS Design Collective has popped-up on Orchard Road, bringing together 50 local Singaporean artisans over a five-month period. Fairly non-descript from the outside, once inside KEEPERS is a treasure trove of fashion, accessories, homeware, artworks and beauty products.
With so many creative artisans in one place, it’s a hive of activity. There are talks, workshops, exhibitions and performances with notable names including Carrie K handmade jewelry, Gnome & Bow men’s accessories, Whole 9 Yards womenswear and Code Deco artisan perfumes. The interiors are minimalist white (to draw attention to the clothes of course) and the display tables and clothes racks have been created by Singapore design studio, Acre.
To make full use of the KEEPERS experience you’ll need to empty your pockets. The focus is on the mid to high-end shopper, so while you can pick up a Mandy Wu ring for or an Elohim dress for under $90, most items are in the hundreds (or thousands). An Edypoi Anomaly Blackout watch will cost you $980 and a Keng Lye octopus acrylic art sculpture will set you back $9,416.
Still, it’s a pretty walk. KEEPERS will be open until Feb 15 2015; find more information here.
