If there’s one thing luxury skincare brands have got to watch out for, it’s customisable skincare solutions. It’s become increasingly common to get personalised haircare and skincare products these days. Right off the bat, there are the ever-popular Prose Hair and Function of Beauty, which offer customisable shampoos and conditioners to be delivered after the completion of an online hair assessment and order placement. There’s Alcheme too, that produces made-to-order skincare products in addition to their popular skincare range.
Now in Singapore, there’s Yours, a local beauty start-up that presents its users with a personalised skincare regimen, through a selection of Swiss-made products made using ingredients that’ll help with different skin issues.
Start by taking an online assessment (common when purchasing customisable beauty products) that poses questions like “What’s your stress level” and “What’s your skin type”. Your answers will then be considered and decoded through the beauty brand’s machine-learning technology, and a range of personalised products will be recommended to you. Inside each Fully Yours kit you’ll find a day cream, night cream, eye serum and face serum.
For instance, someone with an oilier skin type and a recurring issue of blackheads/whiteheads might be prompted to purchase a lightweight corrector serum, which helps to clear congested skin and balances sebum production.
While Yours is definitely more customisable than Alcheme, it doesn’t seem as detailed as brands like Prose Hair and even Function of Beauty, which also allows you to choose your preferred scent and goals. Besides, you can’t just purchase one product, you have to get the entire set.
But for a total of four personalised products, we must say US$129 (around $179) is a pretty decent deal, especially since run-of-the-mill beauty products can cost a similar price, or more. So if you’re looking to get your hands on some tailor-made, quality skincare products that are suitable for your skin type, go ahead and give Yours a try. Perhaps they’ll even incorporate more options in the near future.
P.S. They’re cruelty-free and environmentally-friendly too, so just use ‘em guilt-free.
