The retail economy may be in the doldrums for some brands, but there are a lot of exceptions too, including, most excitingly, among local labels. We’re talking about multi-label boutique Naiise, which stocks lifestyle knick-knacks and accessories from over 850+ established local and international brands. If you thought their second-floor store at Clarke Quay Central was big, you’ll be amazed by their first official flagship.
Adding to their five other brick-and-mortar stores, the new 8,500 square feet space at The Cathay is their biggest one yet. There is furniture and home decor prodcuts from Ethnicraft (Singapore), Sketch Interior( Denmark), Fritz Hansen (Denmark), Tinge x Desinere (Singapore) and Snap Design Co (Singapore). The flagship store will also host its space to exhibitions and pop-ups which will showcase merchandise from Tiger Brewery, local pin maker Pindemic, Malaysian apparel by Pestle and Mortar as well as design books distributed by Tan Yang International, an origami exhibition by ninetyninestates and even a wall calligraphy installation by Actseed & Co.
There will also be a big focus on craft classes and workshops with their new Studio Life concept, able to squeeze in 30 participants at once. You can expect upcoming workshops like book binding, handmade skincare for men, copper and concrete lamp casting and even Japanese incense making. The space also includes a DIY corner to personalize your own buys.
