When experimental retail space NomadX first opened late last year at Plaza Singapura, high-tech elements like smart mirrors and exclusive online-to-offline brands flexed their muscles, showing us all what a modern day shopping experience can be. Many months later, they’ve completely revamped and reopened on Jul 24, with more tech and unique offerings to boot.
There are a bunch of new retailers taking up the pop-up spaces within the thematic retail playground. There’s local provision shop-inspired The Lucky Shop (by Zha Huo Dian) offering their eclectic selection of old-school men’s and women’s accessories, trinkets and clothing that you will not be able to find anywhere else. And if you’re looking to rock the hypebeast look, DistriSneaks, with their limited-edition sneakers, is where you need to be.
It’s not just about fashion. Find aesthetic yet functional decor pieces to jazz up your home at mrphy, feel clean and refreshed using products from French organic beauty brand Melvita, or feed your K-pop look at My Beauty Moments, which carries a range of Korean cosmetic and beauty brands under one roof.
In tandem with the revamp, NomadX has launched NomadX.sg, making the whole purchasing process more seamless, and now available 24/7 online. When shopping at the physical space, simply point your smartphone camera at any of the retail item’s QR code tags and you’ll be directed to its NomadX.sg page, and from there, find out more about the product and complete the purchase right there. There’s no more need to head to a cashier counter. You can even choose to pick up your items on-site, or have then delivered.
And while you’re there, check out the many experience zones and highly Instagrammable objects. From accessories displayed in supermarket refrigerators to an ‘80s arcade area complete with a “Secret Level” to stumble upon, NomadX is one retail store that makes physical shopping fun again.
