Global beauty authority Sephora has unveiled its newest outlet—a sprawling 5,300 sq ft space in Westgate at Jurong East. The store marks the biggest Sephora store in the heartlands, and a strategic move away from just focusing on shoppers in town.
Previously, the Sephora Jurong East outlet was located in neighboring mall JEM, which ceased operations on Jan 31 to make way for the Westgate store, which opened on Feb 1. Found on the first floor of Westgate, the new store is 50 percent bigger, and takes the space formerly occupied by Isetan Singapore.
According to Mathieu Sidokpohou, Managing Director Southeast Asia Pacific at Sephora, the Westgate store was opened to help elevate the beauty scene for westsiders. Available inside are more than 120 beauty brands across skincare, makeup and fragrance, including favorites like Tom Ford, Fenty Beauty, and Laneige. Sephora Westgate is also one of the only two stores on the island to sell MAC cosmetics; the other being the flagship store in ION Orchard.
Sephora Westgate opened officially to the public at 12pm on Feb 1, but representatives said eager fans queued from 4pm the day before—encouraged by the opening promotions that gave the first 100 customers in line a $100 voucher; the next 100 received a $20 voucher.
It’s a beautiful day for makeup lovers living in the west. We’d suggest steering clear of the area for now (everyone knows beauty geeks can get aggressive, fast); but in any case, fret not westsiders, Sephora’s got you.
Sephora Westgate is located at #01-23/24, Westgate, and is open from 10am-10pm daily.
