After just two years, Orchard Road’s Apple Store will no longer be the sole branch of the franchise to stand in Singapore. A sparkling new outlet has sprung by the main entrance of none other than Jewel Changi Airport and will open to the public, tomorrow (Jul 13) morning at 10am.
The label is synonymous with minimalism; clean lines, user-friendliness and meticulous attention to detail are all part of the Apple brand and that’s all reflected in the fully-glass, curved exterior of the outlet—set to mimic Jewel’s convexed facade. Similar to the first flagship store at Orchard Road, the new store comes in two storeys, with over 200 Apple products displayed in impeccably neat rows across both levels. And to give you an authentic Cali Apple experience, the two floors are linked via a curved Castaina stone stairway, which is inspired by the architectural delight that is the Apple Park in Cupertino.
Visitors are encouraged to test the products out firsthand or approach an employee for assistance. Inclusivity is strongly emphasised at the Changi outlet, where over a hundred employees are stationed to answer your queries in 11 languages, including sign language. Customers who purchase Apple products are also entitled to get the Personal Setup treatment at the Genius Bar on the second level, for device set-up assistance.
Free masterclasses on video and photography, coding and apps, health and fitness, music and more are offered on the daily for participants to hone their passion as part of the Today At Apple programmes, including the Jewel-exclusive The Magic of Jewel Changi Airport Photo Walk. The Photo Walk takes guests along on a guided tour around the legendary HSBC Rain Vortex and the surrounding verdure to capture the scenic views, while introducing Instagram-maximising photography techniques.
Led by a talented Creative Pro from the team, the 500m trail is as engaging and informative as it gets, especially when the international Jewel conversation is still abuzz. Best to book a session quick, as spots are being snapped up real fast.
