Fashionistas here will no longer have to fly to nearby Hong Kong to get the coveted Lanvin x H&M or any future fashion collaborations that the Swedish brand is known for. Yes, H&M is finally coming to Singapore. It made headlines a three years ago when the Swedish fashion giant announced that they will be making a presence here but it all fizzled out soon after.
It has made waves for collaborating with high-end designers like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld and Viktor & Rolf for one-off collections. It has also worked with Australian pop star Kylie Minogue on a sexy swim wear collection. H&M is the world’s second-largest retail chain behind Spain’s Inditex, which owns Zara and Massimo Dutti.
The Singapore flagship will be located in Orchard Building and will have a sales area of approximately 3,000 square metres. The store is planned to open during the third quarter of 2011.
