Prima Taste products are a familiar sight in stores, particularly its brightly coloured boxes of ready-made sauce kits to help busy urbanites whip up local favourites quickly and easily.
The brand has now made it even easier, faster and hassle-free with its latest line of products, Prima Taste Complete Sauce. Gone are the multiple sauce packets and condiments – these are all-in-one sauces that provide convenience “without compromising taste or quality”.
There are seven flavours – Char Kway Teow, Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle, Prawn Noodle Soup, Fish Head Curry, Roti Prata Curry, Rojak, and Rendang.
Each one is accompanied by easy-to-follow cooking videos which can be found by scanning the prominent QR code on the refreshed packaging.
Also new is the Ready-to-Cook Hokkien Noodle. Similar to dried pasta, the Singapore-style noodle has a long shelf life of 18 months without refrigeration, and is the ideal choice with cooking traditional prawn noodle dishes.
Just one pouch
At the official launch and hands-on cooking session held at ABC Cooking Studio in Jewel Changi Airport, SG Magazine tried making an authentic Singaporean dish – Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle.
After frying the garlic, we tossed in eggs, prawns, squid and pork belly before adding in the noodles. We then added the Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle sauce base, some water and let it simmer. Considering this was our first attempt at preparing such a dish, the result was surprising. In less than 15 minutes, we managed to cook a flavourful plate of Hokkien noodles. Our conclusion? We can’t wait to try out the other sauces and enjoy local fare at home.
All Prima Taste products will be available at all major supermarkets islandwide and online at www.primataste.com.
