Anchorpoint has always been a rather sleepy mall despite its central location. Things are set to change though, now that it has undergone a major revamp under a new independent owner that brings renewed energy to the Queensway neighbourhood.
Working with local architectural design firm Amongst Studio, the refreshed mall honours the area’s rich heritage while incorporating contemporary elements for a refreshed tenant mix.
Its infrastructure is infused with nautical elements, symbolising its role as a neighbourhood anchor. The main lobby and The West Deck, an alfresco space, feature archways resembling boat hulls and boat deck-like travertine stone flooring, while the B1 atrium features a sea of blue mosaic tiles.
“The revamped Anchorpoint is our love letter to Queensway. We’ve sought to retain the old-world charm of this nostalgic mall while curating pockets of unique Singapore-born businesses tailored to the residents,” says Alex Wong, Anchorpoint’s leasing manager.
Shop, eat and spoil yourself
There are now more lifestyle offerings, both established and new. You can buy groceries at Cold Storage and Baazar – The Modern Indian Grocer, fuel your hobbies at Mr. D.I.Y. and Mister Minit, get health check-ups at Straits Clinic, pamper yourself with a spa session, get a new outfit at shops like Cotton On Outlet, and meet your bestie for lunch at Jack’s Place.
If you are looking for a place to unwind after cycling along the rail corridor and park connector, explore homegrown cafes such as Anagram Coffee, which pours speciality brews in a minimalist interior. Two stops down, Overbrød offers unique Scandinavian-inspired fare. One floor down is Fang Patisserie’s innovative sweet treats.
In A Kind Ooof’s first physical store, you’ll find handcrafted 925 silver jewellery celebrating your individuality. If you are a comics collector, Comics Library opens later next year. Also remember to schedule a trip to McDonald’s, opening next month, with the kids.
Outside the main building, The Brewmaster House (formerly the first commercial brewery in Singapore) hosts Common Man Coffee Roasters and Yoga Movement.
Discover the mall in the spirit of Christmas
