Four years ago, the beauty chain pulled out of Singapore citing fierce competition and the rise of e-commerce. It has now re-entered the market with the opening of its first store at Jurong Point.
According to the company, the relaunch will “help unlock new opportunities and fortify its growth plans while reaffirming its vision of being the leading player in beauty”. Two more outlets are set to open in 2024.
Shoppers used to gripe about the cluttered aisles, messy product displays and pushy staff, but judging from the official opening on Dec 7, the shopping experience is going to be a more pleasant one. It’s a modest 882-square-foot space but looks brighter and neater, with testers for most products and knowledgeable sales assistants.

Mude: This makeup brand founded by Korean beauty blogger Raemi in 2020 has achieved cult status. Its most popular items are the mascaras that are easy-to-use without smudging or clumping.
Tous Fragrance: Its bear-shaped bottle packaging is hard to resist. The pink Love Me Eau de Parfum boasts a floral fruity scent that feels modern and fresh.
