The Japanese eyewear brand has launched the frame collection on Harry Potter’s birthday, which falls on Jul 31, 1980. Round metal frame inspired by Quidditch

Every frame in the collection encapsulates the essence of the magical world the boy wizard and his friends have to navigate through. There is a lightweight round metal frame inspired by Quidditch, the most well-known sport in the wizarding world. The temples are reminiscent of Harry Potter’s iconic broomstick with “Nimbus 2000” engraved on its temple tip, while the nose pads resemble the wings of the Golden Snitch.

Boston-style metal frame that’s a homage to Hermione Granger

Next is the Boston-style metal frame that is a homage to Hermione Granger. The rim features a pattern inspired by her Time-Turner necklace – a magical device that takes the wearer back in time. The temples are designed to resemble Hermione’s wand.

Acetate frame in the classic Wellington style

For a bolder look, try the acetate frame in the classic Wellington style. The front features two star-shaped studs, while the temple wire cores are decorated with intricate engravings on both the outer and inner surfaces. Harry Potter’s owl, Hedwig, and the Hogwarts acceptance letter are made into emblems embedded on the temple tips.

Hogwarts Express-inspired frames

Lastly, the two-tone rectangular acetate frame draws inspiration from Hogwarts Express. It comes in two colour options – the red option echoes the iconic colour of the steam locomotive while the grey option denotes the steam emitted from its engine. The wheels of the Hogwarts Express are transformed into motifs adorning the sides of the frame front. Emblems in the symbol of Platform 93⁄4 and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry crest are embedded on the temple tips, serving as a reminder of the journey to Hogwarts and the adventures that await Harry Potter and his friends.

The frames retail at $178 each, inclusive of standard high index aspheric lenses.
