The National Gallery Singapore has been all the rage with its slew of fancy restaurants and big-deal opening week festivities. But we’re especially fond of the gift shop and adjoining cafeteria, a joint effort by the folks from Unlisted Collection, Foreign Policy Design and Luxasia. Comprising the entire frontage of the City Hall Wing, on the ground floor, the 8,800 square feet space overlooks the Padang and carries coffee table books, design collectibles and prints, among other cute things. Also exciting is the attached quick-service, casual dining venue comprising a café and cafeteria helmed by chef Sufian Zain from Restaurant Ember who adds a Southeast Asian touch to the menu.
