The buzz: Dubai-based international label Gisellablu opens its first overseas outpost at Raffles City, just two years after its highly successful launch in the Middle East.
The vibe: All that glitters is gold. The flashy space, dominated by a glossy-black color scheme, takes its cues from the City of Gold with lustrous gold-beaded curtains cascading down the walls and ceiling.
The goods: Sexy and bold. Helming the label is Australian-born designer Sacha Plumbridge who delivers feminine, effortlessly chic pieces ($50 upwards) that demand attention, like a 20’s inspired heavily-embellished dress, a sheer tiffany blue blouse and floral print pants in sunny yellow. Also in store is sister shoe label Aurora Wild that’s equally as glamorous, including look-at-me animal-print stilettos made with Italian leather ($50 upwards).
Why you’ll be back: Few international labels do classy, hot weather-appropriate pieces quite as well as this emerging brand, and the affordable prices just add to its appeal.
