The buzz: More than a year after its arrival was first announced, French luxury label and trunk maker Goyard has finally opened its first flagship boutique in Singapore.
The vibe: Following the same vein as Goyard’s outlets worldwide, the interior features modern shelves and displays in handsome mahogany, brass accents and antique lighting for a charming, old-world look, complete with the scent of wood, books and leather. Outside, the store’s façade stands out with its stark, glossy black frontage framed in gold.
The goods: Look forward to a full collection of trunks, bags and accessories ($640 upwards) in the brand’s signature hand-painted chevron print (though some pieces come in exotic skins) in store. Goyard’s renowned personalization service isn’t available yet, but when it is, expect to wait up to 30 days for your customized product.
Why you’ll be back: This is, after all, Paris’s oldest and most prestigious trunk maker, owned by royalty around the world. Luxurious as it sounds, the store isn’t stuffy. It ain’t cheap though.
