HipVan

Everyone knows HipVan as that online store specializing in quirky furniture and decor ever since it launched in April 2013. They were quickly listed in Founders Grid’s as one of “50 Singapore startups you should get to know”. Although they’ve organized offline shopping experiences with pop-ups at Millenia Walk and Suntec City in 2015 and 2016 respectively, this flagship brick-and-mortar store located on the second floor of The Cathay is seven times larger.

The previously only-available-online furniture and decor, such as their best-selling sofas, dining tables, chairs, TV consoles and more, will now be on display, spanning across 10,000 sq feet of retail space. On top of other brands, they’ll also feature thematic home furnishings under their own umbrella, like San Francisco by HipVan (lots of beige wood pieces of furniture), Stockholm by HipVan (comfortable sofas and quirky shaped coffee tables in various muted and pop colors) and Casablanca by HipVan (unconventional, angular pieces of decor). They’ve also made the shopping a little more interactive and convenient by incorporating their e-commerce prowess into the retail experience—if you see what you like in-store, add them into your e-cart and checkout whenever you’re ready (even if that means doing it at home).
