Adding on to Duxton Road’s row of specialty cafes and retail stores is Monument Lifestyle; a part cafe, part lifestyle concept store for men. Crammed into the brightly lit shophouse space is a curated collection of menswear, assortment of stylish yet functional homeware, grooming products, surfboards (yes you read that right) and an intimate cafe area where the missus can wait while you get the manly shopping done.
According to co-founder Dustin Ramos, almost all brands featured are exclusive to Monument in Singapore, including certain American labels that are making their debuts on our shores. Brands comprise urban outdoor specialists Gentlemen’s Hardware, menswear labels Katin, Alex Mill and Hari Mari, a bespoke line of Happy Socks, and more.
Its cafe component follows from the the retail front’s knack for crafted goods, offering light bites, coffee and teas from organic, sustainability-forward brands such as Four Barrel Coffee and Samovar, both hailing from San Francisco. For tummy fillers, get their artisanal toasts with toppings like lemon curd, nutella and avocado.
