Roger Vivier

The buzz: The Parisian luxury house known for pioneering the modern stiletto heel in 1954 opens its first flagship boutique at Ngee Ann City.

The vibe: Modeled after founder Roger Vivier’s own home, the très élégante 90 sq. meter. salon has an intimate art gallery feel, accented with palatial furnishings, such as the antique Louis XV console, an ornate gold-framed mirror and vintage lamps sourced from antique stores in Paris.

The goods: Naturally, the brand’s classics, like its square-toe Buckle flats, Choc stilettos with inward-curving heels and Virgule pumps, which feature an outward-curving heel in the shape of a comma, are in store, alongside a selection of sublime handbags and accessories from its seasonal collections ($1,010 upwards).

Why you’ll be back: For the same reason we keep returning to Chanel, Dior and Givenchy (even if it’s just browsing)—to see which heart-stopping piece ends up on your “where to spend that big fat bonus” list.
