T2 Tea

Australia’s popular luxury tea brand, T2 Tea has opened an outlet located at the premises previously occupied by Epicentre store in 313@Somerset. T2’s wild interpretation and spin on the traditional art of tea has brought them from a small, humble store on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy (Melbourne’s stretch of hipster bars, cafes and stores in the lively inner-city suburb) some 20 years ago to become a known brand with 75 stores around the world. At the store front, you will see a huge display wall of their teas (in their iconic big worded green, orange, red boxes) amongst the solid black cabinet. Just like all the stores around the world, this one is furnished with sleek wooden floorings and white lighting ornaments.

On the menu, staples like the English Breakfast Earl Grey are available while their signature Melbourne Breakfast (loose leaf flavored black tea with hints of vanilla, from $17) or French Earl Grey (medium-bodied black tea with notes of bergamot, from $17) really takes the cake. But if you’re into something richer and more interesting, the have chocolate teas like the Oolong Chocolate Chai ($26), which gives you a nice mix of sweetness and spiciness; and the Choc Chip Chai ($18), which is best brewed with milk and honey. After more than 20 years of blending teas and experimentation, they now have more than 200 teas under their belt, including a specially tailored brew for Singapore only available in stores, called the Singapore Breakfast ($19)—a mix of pu’er, coconut and pandan, which is reminiscent of kaya toast.

Aside from the wide selection of teas, they also sell quirky teawares like cups and saucers, tea glasses, teapots, jugs and brewing tools. They have a collection of cups and saucers (from $40) and teapots (from $48) that come in eclectic bohemian designs. Gift sets (includes tea and teawares) are also available from $52 onwards.
