The name may not be as ubiquitous as Nike or Adidas but Chinese sportswear brand Li-Ning is certainly powering its way up – at least in Singapore.
Founded in 1990 by internationally renowned gymnast and Olympic Gold Medalist Li Ning, the brand is recognised for its professional sports products, particularly across five core categories: basketball, running, lifestyle, training, and badminton.
While Li-Ning’s products were previously available in multi-brand sports stores, customers can now get them under one roof at its two newly opened boutiques at Plaza Singapura and Bugis+.
“The opening of the two direct-to-consumer stores in Singapore symbolises the brand’s exploration of the Southeast Asia market and marks an important milestone for the brand. We hope to use the stores as an important channel to provide professional sports products, inspire a healthy lifestyle, and serve local consumers with a quality retail experience, “ says Li-Ning’s head of international division Zeng Jing.
The new stores boast key collections such as the Way of Wade (WOW) shoe series, a collaboration with three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade. The WOW shoes have been a major success for the brand, and fans can try out the latest WOW 11 model featuring the innovative Carbon Core Drive System technology.
Runners have the opportunity to try the Fei Dian 4 Challenger in-store which features the latest Li-Ning structural technology, Dual-stage Assist Curves, which enhances propulsion and running efficiency. The shoe has a full-length carbon plate insert, a sleek new design, and boasts improvements in cushioning, speed ventilation, and stability during acceleration.
Li-Ning stores are at Plaza Singapura (68 Orchard Rd, #03-07/08 Singapore 238839) and Bugis+ (201 Victoria St, Singapore 188067).
