Marimekko’s first lifestyle concept store at Ion Orchard will lift shoppers’ mood. Comprising retail and cafe, the store by iconic Finnish design house is a bright and cheery space filled with its signature bold prints and joyful designs.
The brand is on a mission to “bring joy to everyday life through its unique design language”. Find vibrant and colourful products – Ready-to-Wear apparel, bags and accessories – that incorporate contemporary Nordic aesthetics in the 1,829-square-feet retail section.
Making an impact is the Fall/Winter 2023 collection that celebrates architecture-inspired prints and archetype silhouettes inspired by iconic architects. The geometric cuts and oversized patterns might be a little loud for some, but are nonetheless head-turners.
The home furnishing section comes complete with kitchen utensils, plates, glassware and other products that convey a Nordic lifestyle. If you are not sure about them, pop over to the cafe next door to “try” them out.
The cafe, which serves as a showroom, welcomes shoppers with its equally charming interior such as long bench seating covered with Marimekko’s signature Unikko print and colourful birch wood chairs. It’s a comfortable place to enjoy a cuppa alongside a selection of cakes, tarts and pies.
