We’re off to the races this September with the electrifying return of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. Malls around town have stepped into second gear with race-related collaborations, discounts and rewards even beyond race weekend, all in a bid to appeal to shoppers’ inner F1 junkies. Here are some of the adrenaline-thumping deals to enjoy.

Marina Square: Brace for race action

Marina Square’s prime location at the heart of the action makes it an ideal spot for race weekend shopping. It’s no wonder they’ve already got a slew of heart-thumping deals lined up from now to Sep 22.

We’re talking special discounts with participating retailers throughout race period coupled with escalating laps of e-Vouchers in the lead-up to the grand finale. Shoppers need only spend $50 to redeem a $5 e-Voucher from now to Sep 19, or a full $10 e-voucher over race weekend itself. Junior drivers can also get their race on at the Central Atrium, which will transform into an exhilarating racetrack from September 17 to 22 ($7 for a five-minute ride; free for first 100 shoppers to spend $30).

Velocity@Novena Square: Meet, greet and shop with Alpine

It’s full-on F1 fever from now to September 22 at Velocity@Novena Square, where the BWT Alpine Team F1 drivers – comprising Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon and Jack Doohan – will be making a quasi-appearance in the form of life-sized standees next to a pair of Alpine sports cars, one of which will don uniquely Singaporean illustrations courtesy of a local artist.

Shoppers who snap the most creative pics next to the standees stand a chance to meet the drivers in the flesh for an exclusive meet-and-greet – though they can also wait till Sep 18, when two of the three drivers will pop by for exclusive photo ops. Otherwise, you can always flash your F1 tickets at all participating retailers for a straightforward 10 percent discount. UOL loyalty programme members can also clinch $10 worth of e-vouchers for every $120 spent this season.
