Following the trend of heartland-based art galleries, Heng Artland, one of the promising new art galleries in town, is located smack in the middle of Alexandra Road’s business enclave. Having set up shop in regional art havens like Kuala Lumpur and Beijing, they specialize in Chinese contemporary art, boasting big names in the ink and oil painting scene like Jia Youfu, Jiang Caiping, Chen Hui, Cai Xiaofeng, Fu Xiaoning, Xu Renlong and Zhao Xiaohai.
Its permanent collection includes works by emerging artists from Singapore, Europe and China but one of its strongest collections include works by renowned contemporary artists like Kowalczuk and Suire Valey. Some of the more interesting works include Chen Junde’s surrealistic oil paintings and Yves Pallie’s pop-culture inspired canvas works. Prices start from $800.
