If you’re the sort of person for whom a haircut should be a hour-long proper experience in a gorgeous space (with a price tag to boot), this might be the spot for you. This uber cool Japanese salon on Orchard is owned by NIL Fake, the people behind other fancy salons such as SWITCH and DIPTYCH and nail salon ARUT. Their first store outside Japan fuses an art gallery concept with retail space, displaying cute artwork of animals in barber capes. There’s a cool but intimate vibe with the monochrome colors, industrial touches and black blinds on the floor to ceiling glass windows. It might also just be one of the few salons in Singapore with the one-stop Takara Belmont barber chair in which you can get your cut, wash and shampoo without having to get up and cut across the shop with a towel on your head.
The team is led by Japanese stylists Katsuto Akimichi (founder of NIL Fake) and Yoshi, decade-old veterans in the industry. Haircuts for dudes are $80, and $100 for women. They also do coloring services from $120, perms from $180 and rebonding from $250. Basic hair treatments available from $60. If you want to lie back for hours, their packages combine several services, with price tags that cover a nice range. For example, you can get a haircut, coloring and treatment at $270. As for the conditioning products, they use brands like Shiseido, Hoyu, Pravana, Nook and Mucota, which are also available for purchase.
Besides the hair-related services, you can also opt for make-up services ($60-120).
