The Yoga School, located on the 39th floor of OCBC Centre, is a boutique yoga studio opened by Dawn Chan, an experienced yoga practitioner of 17 years. The minimalistic studio was designed by architect Bobby Cheng of Brewin Design Office, a Singapore-based interior design firm. You’ll find most things covered in posh wood, from their sliding door panels to their tables and chairs. To ensure your experience ends well, their beautiful bathrooms come with towels by bedding and lifestyle brand and Ploh, as well as toiletries by bath and skincare outfit Aromatherapy Associates.
Decor aside, the studio’s schedule is packed with 20 classes a week, led by eight different teachers. You can choose from the usuals like cardio flow, lyengar yoga, meditative, yin and restorative classes as well as more specialized ones like the Hatha Radja yoga and Forrest yoga classes. Besides the permanent instructors who’ll be in charge of various classes of 20 people, they’ll also invite international practitioners to conduct special sessions, which includes Yiannis Mukta Om from New York, Rock YHeron from L.A. and Seonia from Japan. Duration of the classes range from 45 to 75 minutes.
The Yoga School also plans community events in collaboration with organizations like Save our Street Dogs and Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation to help them raise funds. Classes are $38 each, and $360 for 10.
