Carven

The buzz: This is the first standalone store for the acclaimed French label which is taking the catwalks from Paris to New York by storm.

The vibe: Using Parisian-style minimal white mosaic tiles, the space features refined furniture with W-shaped mirrors, graphic light benches, wooden shelves and curtained-off fitting rooms to set itself apart from the rest of the boutiques in the mall.

The goods: Chief designer and creative director Guillaume Henry has an eye for wearable luxury that appeals to both mature and young women shoppers. Those looking for sophisticated classics must get their hands on Henry’s signature trench coat in sober maroon ($1,360), while the double-tiered dress ($790) with subtle details like soft pleats and immaculate tailoring is great for casual evening wear. There’s also a silk tee with printed graphics inspired by the Renaissance ($290  which makes a great statement piece, and a sweater with gorgeous frills ($390) that’s supremely eye-catching and perfect for the windy season.

Why you’ll be back: Reasonably priced luxury with a funky twist— you can’t go wrong with that.
