Depression

The buzz: The guys from local indie label Depression launch their first flagship store at Cineleisure Orchard.

The vibe: Nothing sad here, just trendy, affordable clothes for guys and gals, mostly in black and white. Owner Kenny is inspired by clinical aesthetics so has oxygen masks dangling randomly from the ceiling, while bright white lights keep the hospital theme going. The rest of it? Contemporary industrial minimalist décor—but it does the job.

The goods: Black. White. Also some polka dotted prints and stripe motifs. Prices start from $39/$49 for a T-shirt and $320 for leather shoes and wedges.

Why we’ll be back: The Depression label has always lifted our style mood. And the closing time of midnight at the weekend (when the rest of those lazy sods close at 10pm) fills us with profound joy.
