Monoyono

The buzz: Lifestyle boutique chain Monoyono has opened their third store in the CBD at Raffles City, offering a range of quaint, retro-inspired knick-knacks and home wares the brand is known for.

The vibe: Red brick walls, black steel accents and cagey industrial lighting channels the raw, rustic look of a typical New York loft, which set the right stage for the store’s brimming, cheery collection of curios, vintage items and quirky items.

The goods: As eclectic as it can get—quote posters, perfumes, coin purses, coasters and even baking accessories—and you’ll be hardpressed to leave the store empty-handed. Absolutely irresistable are the functional yet humorous kitchen helpers like the Nibbled Cheeseboard & Knife ($42), a beechwood cutting board with small mouse hole to store a cheese knife that’s shaped like a mouse, and a tin accessories box with “Random Crap” printed on its vintage-style Chinese design ($29.90).

Why you’ll be back: Because you’re working within the CBD and looking for gift ideas or something to brighten up your space. Otherwise, there are two other outlets to shop at—VivoCity and Plaza Singapura—and a fuss-free online store if you’ve no time to hit stores.
