The buzz: Finally, a much awaited space that showcases only Singaporean labels and enterprises—across a whopping 6,000 sq. ft.The vibe: Raw and rough around the edges, befitting its full moniker Workshop Element. Proprietor Alfie Leong has consciously created an area that resembles a (modern) working sweatshop where clothes are being produced. The goods: With over 19 designers and labels under one roof, there is definitely lots to love. Casual tailored shirts by WanderWonder ($169 upwards) and trendy tees by Coupé-cousu ($159 upwards) are great for men looking for ready-to-wear that is actually wearable. For the ladies, don’t miss out on the one-off 30-piece collection by veteran Tan Woon Choor, who cleverly mixes jersey, nylon, cotton and lycra to palpable effect in his hand-crafted pieces ($129 upwards). Why you’ll be back: There’s simply too much to take in with just one visit. Just a sampling of the rest of the brands found here—MU by Alfie Leong, Elohim, Ling Wu, Womb, Eve and Sceneplicity—will have you coming back for more.
