Meat lovers, your time has come. The Carvery’s notorious Great Meat Feast is back from Sep 28-Oct 21; and it’s positively drool-worthy. Unlike last year (where spread included other meats like pork), this year’s feast will mainly feature premium beef and cuts for an unspoiled beef experience. Yay or nay for the change? At a buffet price of $78 (Mon-Thurs) or $88 (Fri-Sun), it’s still pretty hard to hate.
This year’s event brings along one of the most quality beef cuts from across the globe—the Yukimuro Snow-Aged Wagyu Beef from Japan (only available on weekends), Tajima Wagyu and 150 Days Grain-Fed Beef City Black from Australia, as well as Ana Paula Black Angus from Uruguay. Each one has its own unique taste; if you’re looking for gentle and mellow beef, go for the Japanese Wagyu, a well-seasoned salty slab. For clean-flavor carnivores, your best bet is the Black Angus from Uruguay. Executive Chef Ian from The Carvery has specifically selected the Australian Tomahawk to cook “dirty-style”—directly on hot coals—to strengthen the smokiness of the beef. Of course, we recommend you just eat them all.
Aside from beef, expect other delish offerings at the feast. Hot dishes like Sous-vide Egg with Grilled Asparagus, Truffle Salsa and Chili Con Carne are but one of the highlights; remember to leave room for desserts like the decadent Valrhona Chocolate Brownie Trifle. And because beef is arguably nothing without wine, a selection of Old and New World reds and whites from France, Chile, Spain and New Zealand have been curated at $12 a glass ($60 a bottle). If you prefer whiskey, a glass of Nikka Whiskey from the barrel goes for $12.
And a big bonus this year, you can purchase select meats, charcuterie and wines from the feast, at a new cash-and-carry retail section. Bon Appetit.
The Great Meat Feast is happening from Sep 28-Oct 21 at The Carvery, Park Hotel Alexandra. More information is available here.
