It’s finally back. Night At Orchard, the popular bazaar in Singapore’s prime shopping district, kicks off on Good Friday after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

The three-day event from Mar 29 to 31, marks the first of 10 monthly events showcasing emerging local and regional brands.

If previous years are anything to go by, the upcoming bazaars will be as vibrant and interesting with plenty to shop, eat and do.

Organised by Orchard Road Business Association and events agency Invade, Night At Orchard will transform the pedestrian walkways of Orchard Road into a vibrant marketplace with pop-up stores offering a curated array of products from F&B, retail and lifestyle brands, as well as workshops and games.

The March edition will see more than 50 booths set up in front of Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City, with experiential elements from art workshops, gachapon machines and blind boxes to on-the-spot customising of accessories.

Homegrown Japanese- inspired minimalist furniture brand Nine.N is the anchor brand of this edition, and its booth will host games in which participants compete to change the cover of their Kaiteki recliners in the fastest time possible.

Venues for future editions of Night At Orchard will include the pedestrian walkways from Ion Orchard to Ngee Ann City, and from Forum The Shopping Mall to Wheelock Place. Plans to bring in more brands from around the region are also underway for future editions.

Brands to look out for

1. Thrifted Clicks by Alyssa Verraderomight and her partner may have started just five months ago but the business selling point-and-shoot compact digicams from the 1980s is already thriving. During a previous pop-up, they sold about 90 percent of cameras and camcorders for $160 to $240, and kids were some of her main customers. They have since stocked up, ready and raring to go for Night At Orchard.

2. Did you know that in the 1980s, Singapore produced watch brands like Campus, Color Club, Aron Dino, Aston? You can find the range at Naked Glory by Yoko Yeap, a pioneer in selling watches at pop-ups. She recently refocused on vintage watches due a surge in demand a few years back. A graphic designer by training, she has even started designing her own watches, mostly vintage inspired.

3. At Timeless Watch Market, Cathy Chen and her business partner specialise in Disney timepieces from all over the world and from different decades. It’s perfect timing, because this year happens to be the 100th anniversary of Disney.

4. Slow Lyfe creates handcrafted leather goods, especially for Apple products. From AirPods Pro cases to AirTag holders, they will give your tech accessories a stylish boost.
