Sunrise Kempinski Hotel

The eye-catching structure is shaped like a rising sun and it is made up of more than 10,000 glass panels, which are tilted at an angle so that it reflects the color of the sky. Located 60km from the Beijing city center, the hotel is set along the picturesque Yanqi Lake and offers views of the Yan Mountain and a section of the Great Wall of China in the distance. With 306 rooms across 21 floors, this is Kempinski’s largest hotel in all of China.

You’ll find nine restaurants and bars, including Elements; an all-day dining venue that serves up an international fare and Magnolia, a stylish Chinese resto that offers Cantonese, Beijing and Sichuan-inspired plates. On the bar front, there’s Paulaner Brauhaus, a microbrewery serving freshly-brewed German beer and rooftop bar, The View’s Bar that offers a selection of premium whiskies, wine and canapes. There’s also a spa with hot and cold plunge pools, steam rooms and sauna.
