On the weekend of October 26, we were invited to join the fun at Angsana Bintan‘s inaugural All Day Beach Party, along the resort’s private stretch of coast.
After arriving on Saturday, the setup was almost carnival-esque, with game-stations from soccer and volleyball to classics like tug-of-war and gunny-sack racing. Meanwhile, the adrenaline seekers (that’s us) headed for the jetskis and all-terrain vehicles (ATV), where the guides were on hand to lead tours around the island, through the villages by ATV and cruising along the coast by jetski.
As the sun set, it all became a bit more Zen, with a yoga session and head-and-shoulder massage booth, where therapists from Angsana Spa helped guests unwind after a long day. Then, as day became night, the party got going at beachside restaurant Pantai Grill, featuring a BBQ dinner with stations for meat, seafood and salads, and a bonfire for roasting meat that certainly whet our appetites. After eating, everyone—kids included—hit the dance floor as guest DJs spun out infectious tunes, before the day ended with a fireworks display right by the beach.
On Sunday, most guests chilled out by the pool or took walks along the beach before catching the afternoon boat back to Singapore. We stopped by Angsana Spa to try one of their signature treatments and decided on the 90-minute fusion massage—a combination of Thai and Swedish techniques to soothe aches and relieve stiffness. The service here was impeccable, the space was breezy, and the treatment was great, with just the right amount of pressure.
We wish the weekend didn’t have to end, but with just a short boat ride back, we were in Singapore in the blink of an eye. Angsana Bintan’s beach party is part of a regular series that follows a different theme each time. The Colours of Thailand, will be held over the weekend of Nov 29, with rates, based on two people sharing, from $330 per night. You can choose either the one-night or two-night package.
