The 60th diamond anniversary edition of the Everest Marathon is on May 29

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest, and to mark the date, the Everest Marathon is set for May 29 featuring three programs: Full marathon ($2,350), half marathon ($2,350) and the non-runner itinerary ($2,150).

Registration is still open for the three-week holiday (May 16-June 3) plans. Runners can opt for the full marathon (42.195km), which include a sightseeing tour in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu as well as a 14-day hike (May 18-May 31) to the marathon starting point on May 29 (with full medical supervision), plus a climb up the 5,545-meter Kala Patthar peak featuring clear views of nearby Everest. The half marathon program includes a shorter 22km run on race day and non-runners do a 7km trek on race day.
