Low cost airline AirAsia just launched daily flights from Singapore to Philippine city Clark on October 1. Tickets go for $472 return.
Clark’s of little interest (it’s pretty industrial) but the new route does make it easy to get to neighboring town and “Christmas Capital of the Philippines”, San Fernando.
Check out their Christmas light up, the gaudy but mood-enhancing Giant Lanterns Festival (featuring 20-foot-high lanterns powered by 3,500 to 5,000 light bulbs), plus, Paskuhan Village, Asia’s only Christmas theme park.
